On January 3 2012, I tweeted what was to be the first of my attempts to recommend one song every day for a year.

The series – which, you’ll notice, had already kicked off late – was led by Capracara’s House Of Dolls, a not-too-bad-but-hardly-inspirational bit of bleepy house that would later annoy me for its pornographic sleeve that popped up whenever I was to share the accompanying Spotify playlist (available here, incidentally).

I’m still not quite sure why I went with the idea of recommending one song every day for a year (and a leap year at that). As I remember, however, I liked the thought of the daily challenge and needed to do something on Twitter to support my attempts to become an About.com guide on the subject (which came to nothing).
